What Are THCA Flowers?

What Are THCA Flowers?

I know many of you are still unsure as to exactly "what" THCA Hemp Flowers are and how they compare to cannabis. If it werent for the fact that I grew for more than 25 years it would be somewhat difficult to have a concise understanding myself. I'm going to explain it in as simple of ways possible in hopes that upon reading this you have a clear understanding as to exactly what THCA flowers are. I'll begin with telling you about hemp. The hemp species Ehrensing originated from China. It has virtually no THC content only CBD. It's been used in the US since the 1800s. In 2018 the president passed the 2018 Farmers Act thus making any hemp products that have a thc content lower than 0.3% legal. When this happened a few ingenius minds began thinking about how they could use this to their advantage and this is what they came up with. They took the hemp strain and began crossing it with strains of cannabis that are high in THCA. Before I go any further let me briefly explain exactly what THCA is so you have a concise understanding. The cannabinoid THCA is one of over two hundred cannabinoids found naturally in cannabis. THCA is naturally a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and at the same time is the cannabinoid responsible for the THC in cannabis that gives you the effects it does. (getting you high) What happens is that when plants are harvested and cured (dried) the THCA converts to THC or Delta 9 as it is also commonly known as. That is how cannabis gets it's THC. So getting back to the story, these ingenius individuals began crossing hemp with strains of cannabis that were high in THCA content. All perfectly legal as it is a non psychoactive cannabinoid after all. Now comes the really interesting part. What they have done is upon harvesting the hemp flower that is now high in THCA content they immediately flash freeze the plants, kinda like they do with vegetables in order to keep their vitamin and mineral levels high. The flash freezing process keeps the THCA cannabinoid suspended in it's non-psychoactive state thus making it completely legal. It is only then when heat is applied to the hemp flowers (when smoking it or putting it through a carboxylation process) that the THCA converts to THC. Pretty amazing huh? If I didn't know any better I'd swear that it was the same person that came up with Bitcoin for the simple fact that the entire notion is truly ingenius. The only difference whatsoever betweeen cannabis and THCA hemp flowers are the %s. Let me give you an example. If you have a cannabis strain and it has a THC content of 28% then that is it's true content. With THCA flowers on the other hand if you have a COA ( Certificate of Analysis ) which shows the THCA content at 28% it winds up having a true THC content once converted at about 26%-27%. The reason being is that you loose 1%-2% of the THC when converted with this process of flash freezing. THAT IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CANNABIS AND THCA HEMP FLOWERS. I am often told by people that they have never gotten flower from the medical dispensary that is as good and the reason for this is because those medical dispensaries are heavily regulated and the only strains available to them are the handful that are grown for them. Some people like the THCA flowers overall effects moreso than cannabis for a number of reasons. We have free samples at our shop which you are welcome to come get so you can find out for yourself. One last quick note. In case you get any crazy ideas about wanting to grow some of this THCA Hemp Flower yourself you should know this.
